Summit to Our Lady of Snows Church, Chicago. Interment was in Queen of
Heaven Cemetery, Hillside.

KAZIMIERZ CZYSZCZON

Kazimierz Czyszczon, a resident of the Garfield Ridge area and a retired
truck mechanic for JB Hunt, died Wed., Feb., 10, in MacNeal Hospital,
Berwyn at the age of 71.

Survivors include his wife, Franciszka Czyszczon (nee Zembal); two sons,
Peter (Lisa) and Casey (Colleen) Czyszczon; 4 grandchildren; 1 sister,
Aniela Zmuda; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held Sun., Feb. 14, at Zarzycki Manor Chapels, Chicago.
Funeral services were held Mon., Feb. 15, from the funeral home to Our
Lady of Snows Church followed by intermet in Resurrection Cemetery,
Justice.

RUTH HASSELLOF

Ruth A. Hassellof, a resident of La Grange Park and a cook, died Thurs.,
Feb. 11, in Brighton Gardens at the age of 72.

Survivors include two daughters, Susan (Philip) Bruzan and Linda (Norm)
Rick; and 4 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald J. Hassellof; and her
parents Roland and Ingrid Gross.

Visitation and services were held Mon., Feb. 15, at Hitzeman Funeral Home,
Brookfield. Interment was private.

JAMES JALOVEC

James A. Jalovec, a resident of Naples, Florida, formerly of Willow
Springs and the owner of Sweetwater Environmental Wastewater Hauling in
Sebring, Florida, died Thurs., Feb. 4, in the Dominican Republic at the
age of 53.

He died suddenly in a helicopter crash with his pilot and dear friend John
Ward while independently supporting relief operations in Haiti. He was a
businessman and entrepreneur who received his B.A. in Law Enforcement from
Marquette University.

Survivors include three children, Philip, Mark and Jamie Jalovec; his
parents, Patricia and Anthony Jalovec; three sisters, Debbie (Tim)
Costello, Barbara (Danilo) Matic and Tricia Jalovec; one son, Tony
Jalovec; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held Wed., Feb. 17, at Zarzycki Manor Chapels, Willow
Springs. Funeral services were held Thurs., Feb. 18, at St. James at Sag
Bridge Church, Lemont. Entombment was in Resurrection Garden Mausoleum,
Justice.

CHESTER PALUS

Chester “Jake” Palus, a resident of Chicago and a pattern engineer for
Harvester Co., died Wed., Feb. 10, at the age of 85.

He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II and was a member
of the Ted Stempien VFW Post #8821.

Survivors include one son, Glenn; his friend, Arlene Kasanda; and many
nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Irene; his friend Delores Depa;
three sisters, Elizabeth Kloc, Gertrude (Albinas) Paplauskas and Bernice
(John) Kascinski; and one brother, Gerard.

Visitation was held Fri., Feb. 12, at Damar-Kaminski Funeral Home,
Justice. Funeral services were held Sat., Feb. 13, from the funeral home
to St. Joseph Church, Summit. Interment was in Resurrection Cemetery,
Justice.

ROSE PEARSON

Rose Marie Pearson, a resident of Burbank and a cashier, died Sat., Feb.
13, in her home at the age of 77.

Survivors include her husband, Kenneth; one son, Al (Jody) Pearson; two
daughters, JoAnn (Nicholas) Wiedl and Beth Ann Pearson; 4 grandchildren;
and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas (Lorraine) Laiter.

Visitation was held Wed., Feb. 17, at Damar-Kaminski Funeral Home,
Justice. Funeral services were held Thurs., Feb. 18, at Our Saviours
Lutheran Church followed by interment in Chapel Hill Gardens South
Cemetery.

CONCETTE PECKA

Concette “Clara” Pecka, a resident of the Archer Heights area and a
homemaker, died Wed., Feb. 10, in La Grange Hospital at the age of 90.

Survivors include her son-in-law, Michael Simmons; 4 grandchildren; her
brother, Frank (Betty) Diviggiano; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held Sun., Feb. 14, at Zarzycki Manor Chapels, Chicago.
Funeral services were held Mon., Feb. 15, from the funeral home to OUr
lady of Fatima Church followed by interment in St. Mary Cemtery, Evergreen
Park.

Richard E. Pinkowski Sr. Navy veteran of War World II. Loving father of
Antonette Clark, Kenneth J. (Kathleen) Pinkowski, Sandra V. Pietrucha,
Richard E. (Janine)Pinkowski Jr. and Kimberly A. (Michael) Nega. Dear
grandfather of many. Fond uncle of many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Thurs. , Feb. 18, from Foran Funeral Home,
Summit to St. Joseph Church, Summit. Interment was in Resurrection
Cemetery, Justice.

FRANK RUBIS

Frank Rubis, a resident of Berwyn and a retired mechanic for the Milwaukee
Railroad, died Sun., Feb. 14, in his home at the age of 96.

Survivors include his son, Everett Rubis; 2 grandchildren; and his friend,
Mary Piwanowska.

Visitation and services were held Thurs., Feb. 18, from Zarzycki Manor
Chapels, Chicago to St. Mary of Czestochowa Church. Interment was in St.
Adalbert Cemetery.

CAROLINE SKROCKI

Caroline P. Skrocki (nee Kupres), a resident of the Garfield Ridge area
and a homemaker, died Tues., Feb. 9, in her home at the age of 91.

Survivors include one son, Bob (Helen); one daughter, Carol (Dave) Johns;
6 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Pauline Kupres;
and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward; and one son, Eddie.

Visitation was held Mon., Feb. 15, at Damar-Kaminski Funeral Home,
Justice. Funeral services were held Tues., Feb. 16, at ST. Symphorosa
Church, Chicago followed by interment in Resurrection Cemetery, Justice.

Jan Sokolowski, a resident of Justice and a custodian, died Wed., Feb. 10,
in his home at the age of 69.

Survivors include his wife, Genowefa (nee Andryloc); one son, Dariusz
Sokolowski; one daughter, Joanna (Krzysztof) Talar; 2 grandchildren; and
many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held Fri., Feb. 12, at Damar-Kaminski Funeral Home,

Bridgeview. Interment was in Resurrection Cemetery, Justice.

JOSEPHINE STELMACH

Josephine Stelmach (nee Smith). Beloved wife of the late Maciej Stelmach.
Cherished mother of Christine Stelmach, Maria Lotesto, Rose (Tom) Kruski
and Stanley (Candra) Stelmach. Loving grandmother of Krista, Ronald,
Vincent and Mary Lotesto, Jason Kruski, Kirsten and Karissa Stelmach.

Visitation was held Wed., Feb. 17, at Foran Funeral Home, Summit followed
by funeral mass at St. Daniel the Prophet Church, Chicago. Interment was
in Maryhill Cemetery, Niles.

JAN SUCHMIEL

Jan Suchmiel, a resident of Justice and a machinist, died Fri., Feb. 12,
at the age of 54.

Survivors include his wife, Helena Mandecka; three children, Monica, Marek
and David; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held Mon., Feb. 15, at Damar-Kaminski Funeral Home,
Justice. Funeral mass was held Tues., Feb. 16, at St. Blase Church,
Summit. Interment was in Resurrection Cemetery, Justice.

ROBERT YOUNG

Robert W. Young, a resident of Tinley Park and a bar owner, died Mon.,
Feb. 8, in Hines VA Hospital at the age of 65.

Survivors include one sister, Shirley (Carl) Gustafson; and many nieces,
nephews and friends.

Visitation and services were held Sun., Feb. 14, at Damar-Kaminski Funeral
Home, Justice. Interment was private.

GEORGE ZAHOUR, JR.

George Zahour, Jr., a resident of Brookfield and an artist, died Wed.,
Feb. 10, in Lexington of La Grange at the age of 87.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was the Sr. Art Director in the
Chicago Advertising Agencies for more than 40 years including Needham,
Louis and Brorby, Campbell Mithum, Grant, Wright and Baker and Stone &
Adler.

Survivors include his wife, Jeroma Zahour; one son, Paul (Teri) Zahour;
two daughters, Andrea (Kymm) Peckham and Kristen Kline; 12 grandchildren;
and 2 great-grandchildren.

Visitation and services were held Sat., Feb. 13, at Hitzeman Funeral Home,
Brookfield followed by interment in Woodlawn Cemetery, Forest Park.
