At a special caucus of the United Party of Justice on
November 22, a slate of candidates was elected to run on the Party ticket in
the upcoming municipal elections.
“It is our pleasure to congratulate all of our candidates slated
for public office in the next election,” said James Lurquin, Chairman of the
United Party of Justice. “The candidates will bring stability and fresh
ideas to the Village Board.
The United Party selected incumbent Trustee and acting Village
President Richard Sparr for Village President; incumbent Michael J. Maruszak
for Trustee; recently appointed incumbent Kinga E. Bartoszek for Trustee;
and Timothy E. Drea for Trustee.
“I am pleased and honored to be considered as the United Party
candidate for Village President,” said Richard Sparr, Acting President of
the Village of Justice. “For the past twelve years, I have served our
community in a constant and progressive manner for the betterment of our
residents. I am confident that I will provide strong leadership and sound
fiscal management with all village operations.”
Michael Maruszak currently serves on the Board of Directors of the
Southwest
Cook
County Children’s Advocacy Center, and was instrumental in locating
the new Children’s Advocacy Center in the Village of Justice. He serves as
Chairman of the Finance and Insurance Committees for the village and has
served as the Chairman of the Building and Zoning Committee. He has worked
with other members of the Board, department heads and service providers to
reduce overall village expenses. He also serves on the Steering Committee
for Improving Transit in the Village
of Justice.
“I hope to see additional Pace bus services within the Village as
well as accessing areas where currently there are no services provided,”
said Trustee Maruszak.
“A Community is dependent upon the support and commitment of its
residents,” said Kinga Bartoszek, an active member of the Zoning & Planning
Commission for the past three years. “I firmly believe that working together
to serve our residents will result in a community that continues to prosper.
As a young woman who has made Justice her home, I have every interest in
creating a strong and vibrant community.”
“Kinga has been an outstanding member of the Zoning & Planning
Board,” added Mr. Lurquin. “Her personal experiences in her current career
bring many attributes to the Village Board and her recent appointment as
Trustee will allow her to provide that experience and good judgment to the
benefit of all of the residents of the village.”
Timothy Drea is a resident of the Asbury Woods subdivision who
brings a wealth of resources to the village through his contacts in
Springfield while serving on the Executive Committee staff for Senate
President Emil Jones.
“Tim is a fresh face and will be a valued addition to the Board in
the areas of economic development and family issues for the Village of
Justice,” said Lurquin. “He not only has worked with the State Legislature
but also works with the U.S. Congress in these matters. Tim will be
invaluable in bringing additional outside resources to the Village of
Justice.”
