JOSEPH BARZYK

    Joseph J. “Whitey” Barzyk. Army veteran of the Korean War. Beloved
husband of Mary Alyce Barzyk (nee Murphy). Loving father of Laura Barzyk
and Daniel (Debra) Barzyk. Loving son of the late Joseph and Marie Barzyk
(nee Rolla) and John Potempa.
    Funeral services were held Thurs., Dec. 31, from Foran Funeral Home,
Summit to St. Joseph Church, Summit. Interment was in Resurrection
Cemetery, Justice.

CZESLAWA GRACA
    Czeslawa Graca (nee Molek), a resident of the Garfield Ridge area and a
cleaning lady, died Mon., Jan. 4, in MacNeal Hospital, Berwyn at the age
of 51.
    Survivors include three daughters, Grazyna (Wojciech) Konopnicka, Barbara
and Dorota Graca; four sons, Robert (Agnieszka), Daniel (Agata), Jozef
and David Graca; and two brothers, Julian (Maria) and Jozef (Zofia)
Molek.
    Visitation was held Wed., Jan. 6, at Zarzycki Manor Chapels, Chicago.
Funeral services were held Thurs., Jan. 7, from the funeral home to St.
Camillus Church. Interment was in Resurrection Cemetery, Justice.

DONALD KUCERA
    Donald L. Kucera, a resident of La Grange Park and an investigator, died
Fri., Jan. 1, in his home at the age of 76.
    Survivors include his wife, Mercedes Kucera; his daughter, Michelle
Kucera; his brother, Frank (Colette) Kucera; his sister, Lori McKernan;
and many nieces and nephews.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Elsie Kucera; and one
brother, Michael Kucera.
    Visitation was held Mon., Jan. 4, at Hitzeman Funeral Home, Brookfield.
Funeral services were held Tues., Jan. 5, from the funeral home to St.
Louise de Marillac Church, La Grange Park. Interment was in Queen of
Heaven Cemetery, Hillside.

JOHN MURPHY
    John  Murphy, a resident of La Grange Park and a contractor, died Mon.,
Dec. 28, in his home.
    He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
    Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Murphy; two sons, Jon Timothy and
Russell (Margie) Murphy; one niece, Ann Pinnau; and 6 grandchildren.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Laura Murphy.
    Services were held Sat., Jan. 2, at St. John of the Cross Church, Western
Springs followed by interment in Parkholm Cemetery. Arrangements were
handled by Hitzeman Funeral Home, Brookfield.

JOSEPH OBIREK
    Joseph Walter Obirek, a resident of Ormond Beach, Fla., formerly of
Chicago and a railroad switchman, died Sun., Dec. 27, in Memorial
Hospital, Daytona Beach, Fla. at the age of 87.
    Survivors include his wife, Harriet (nee Presz); two sons, Jason and
Michael; two sisters, Patricia (Gerald) Rappeport and Joan Balark; his
mother-in-law, Maryann Presz; two sisters-in-law, Erika Pokarski and
Helen (Rick) Arndt; and many nieces and nephews.
    Funeral services were held in Chicago. Arrangements were handled by
Damar-Kaminski Funeral Home, Justice.

PAUL PAVLUS
    Paul G. Pavlus, a resident of Cicero and a purchasing manager, died
Thurs., Dec. 31, in his home at the age of 79.
    Survivors include three daughters, Zuzanne (David) Fenner, Barbara
(Patrick) Pszczola and Sandra (Lawrence) Szwet; one son, Paul (Laura)
Pavlus; one sister, Mildred Austin; 8 grandchildren; and many nieces and
nephews.
    He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Pauline Pavlus; his parents,
Paul and Zuzanna Pavlus; and one sister, Anne Schultz.
    Visitation was held Mon., Jan. 4, at Hitzeman Funeral Home, Brookfield.
Services were held Tues., Jan. 5, at the funeral home followed by
interment in Mt. Vernon Cemetery.

VIOLET PRZYBYLOWICZ
    Violet J. Przybylowicz (nee Sierecki), a resident of New Lenox, formerly
of the Archer Heights area and a retired custodian for the Prudential
Building, died Fri., Jan. 1, in Salem Village, Joliet at the age of 94.
    Survivors include her son, Peter R. (Mary Jo) Przybylowicz; 2
grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
    Visitation and services were held Wed., Jan. 6, at Zarzycki Manor
Chapels, Willow Springs. Interment was in Resurrection Cemetery, Justice.

MARIE SERRITELLI
    Marie Serritelli (nee Brash). Loving wife of the late Thomas J.
Serritelli. Beloved mother of Joannn (late Joseph) Dybas, Carol (Michael)
Luzzo, Tomacine Serritelli and Larry (Sandra Braun) Serritelli. Dearest
grandmother of Joseph and Jodi. Fond sister of Delores Vaneta and the
late Dorothy Doney.
    Visitation was held Mon., Jan. 4, from Foran Funeral Home, Summit to St.
Daniel the Prophet Church, Chicago. Interment was in Resurrection
Cemetery, Justice.

ANDRZEJ STASIK
    Andrzej Stasik, a resident of the Garfield Ridge area and a Sky Cap for
Midway Airport, died Sun., Jan. 3, in his home at the age of 26.
    Survivors include his parents, Jozef and Maria (nee Szostak) Stasik; two
sisters, Teresa (Pawel) Dziadkowiec and Monika Stasik; and two nephews,
Sebastian and Szymon.

FREDERICK TOMZIK
    Frederick A. Tomzik, a resident of Norridge and a machinist, died Fri.,
Dec. 25, in Foster G. McGaw Hospital at the age of 85.
    Survivors include his wife, Beverly Louise Tomzik; five sons, Rev. Fred
Tomzik, Pastor of St. Louise de Marillac Church, John (Kathy) Tomzik,
Philip Tomzik, Steven (Peggy) Tomzik and David (Kristine) Tomzik; one
daughter, Janice (Rick) Vercillo; one brother, Frank Tomzik; and 7
grandchildren.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Sophie Tomzik.
