The liquor license for The Natural located at 6535 Joliet
Rd. was scheduled to be discussed at Countryside’s meeting on December 13.
There was no word on whether the bar would be
approved or if it would meet the same fate as Tooters
Bar and Grill.
City Administrator Ed Bailey said that he did not
like to speculate whether the bar’s petition for a
liquor license would receive approval from the city
council or not.
Tooters, a 4 a.m. bar like The Natural, was shut
down
when developer Gregory Serduke bought the location
where the bar was located and developed plans for the
Clocktower Pointe condo development.
Mayor Carl LeGant said that the matter would be
discussed at the meeting and did not offer insights on
what might happen to the 4 a.m. bar.
LeGant previously said that Countryside did not
have
a 4 a.m. liquor license so if the bar was approved for
the liquor license it would not be open as late as it
used to be.
The Natural and Tooters were the subject of many
complaints by city residents but Countryside officials
could not address the problem because both bars were
in unincorporated
Cook
County.
Complaints from residents included bar fights,
street
racing, loud music and things found on people’s lawns.
Currently there is a for sale sign on the window
of
the bar and it’s been closed since its annexation into
Countryside because it does not have a liquor or
business license with the city yet.
